Planning a Summer Wedding? Here’s What You Should be Doing Right Now
It is never too early to start planning and making decisions for a summer wedding. You soon will need to make a number of critical choices. Here are suggestions for what you need to do now, while it is still spring:
Select your floral design. Although most florists can supply any flower any time of the year, it can be more cost-effective and personal to select flowers that are in season. Luckily, the summer months provide a plethora of beautiful blooms such assnapdragon, spider chrysanthemum, sunflower, freesia, bells of Ireland hydrangea and many more.
Many summer weddings have an outdoor element, whether a ceremony on the beach or a tented reception under the stars. Be considerate of your guests’ comfort and add special touches such as palm fans, bottled water or parasols to shade the sun.
Never is a signature cocktail more apropos than at a summer wedding. Your guests will crave a refreshing libation. Think light cocktails with mint, cucumber and mango.
Save the Date
It’s not too late to send out save-the-date requests. Summer is a busy travel season for most people, with family vacations and getaways already in the works. Be sure to give your guests ample time to save your important date.
